Brightening the day of a young cancer patient, Christian Bale made a phone call to an eight-year-old Batman fan suffering from leukemia.
In a YouTube video posted by young Zach’s mother on Friday (January 18), the child tells the “Dark Knight Rises” star how he pretends to be Batman and has a realistic Batmobile.
During their conversation, Bale thanked the boy for watching his films, and noted that Zach embodies the film’s message. “The whole point of the movie is anybody can be Batman. Anybody can be as strong as that and help people and put good out into the world,” he said.
This is not the first time Mr. Bale has helped out a family in crisis, having previously flown a cancer patient and her family to Disneyland to have lunch with him and his family.
